Following on from the thread about 2 boost gauges, I have decided to build an indicator as to what the VSV's are doing whilst driving, and one would assume they come on in a certain order, after reading pete betts description on the technical pages, however this does not seem to be so.

From a preliminary test-run, when I start up the car I get all VSV's activated, when I blast it they all seem to go on and off in an irregular order, only thing is I cant keep an eye on them and the road, I need a co-pilot!!

They are all wired up correctly and seem to be functioning correctly, its just how to interpret them...anyone shed any light??

In the OFF state they are closed and in the ON state they are open (to flow air).

You need to really see all VSV's working in parallel with one another, using a datalogger.
It's v.hard to tell what's going on by watching LED's or similar attached to the VSV's.

Remember they are also affected by other things like boost pressure, temperatures and so on so the description is a basic/fundamental one and not a forumla for operation.

Regards
Pete

I was only looking for a simple operation view, all the VSV's seem to be open at idle for some reason and the exhaust gas control valve seems to be energised all the time, any idea why?
