Looking at the problem caused to our Russian friend in his thread here (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=113061), might it not be an idea to make the Trader forums available to members only?

If he hadn't been able to see Martins GB thread he wouldn't have been stung.

I don't suppose the traders would like that.

I for one wouldnt mind. In some PM requests i have to state 'We are unable to offer a members discount to un paid members' if they are newbies. Making the traders areas members only would make life easier IMO. :search:

I agree also, we'd lose quite a bit of trade.

What about group buys though. I'm not suggesting any of the current traders do it, but i thought the principle behind a group buy was to offer a product in bulk to members at a discount. Perhaps we should be more clear in future?

How do the traders feel about this?

i'd still prefer group buys on the general forum also, sometimes it can be difficult with gb's to get the numbers, the more people can join the easier it is to get the numbers needed for the gb.

Also I always organise group buys in my own section, if I had to orgaise them in a different section where I don't have moderation rights, it would make things more difficult to manage.

Don't really have any issue with this either way but when you sign up as a trader is it not to trade with the members on the site not anyone that just happens to be passing by?

Once again, not concerned personally and can understand the traders concerns above, business is business no matter where it comes from :d

I appreciate that Nic, and i agree that the GB's organised by traders, are ultimately the traders responsibility, and of course should be kept in their section. But if they are being run through this forum then they should be for the members of this forum. DYSWIM?

If it's a case of a gb being run by a trader via the forum as in the mkivstore case which is capitalised on by the Russian chappie and it all goes sour for him it should be made clear from the outset the first point of contact is the trader not the club.
