Supra Rear Spoiler

hey, im a noob so be gentle....

Basically im in the hunt for a Supra at the minute, twin turbo version, ive managed to find a quite a few, however only a handful will swap my car. Anyway completely of the point, ive found a 1993 Supra TT, however it doesnt have a rear spoiler, now i do like it with, or without the spoiler, however will this de-stabilize the car? make it even more rear end happy?

Also what would be a good price for a 1993 Supra TT, auto with 60K miles on the clock?

No idea as to price mate. Picked my 96 up for 8k with all receipts and import papers. But Supra prices are all over the place at the mo. Sorry bud. Good hunting though.

IIRC you will only feel the spoilerless difference at high speeds 100 leptons+

If the Supra you have seen is without a spoiler then you will be able to pick one up on here cheap.

Is the sup auto/man?

Unless you're driving at seriously illegal speeds on the roads it'll be fine spoilerless - mine is *touch wood*.

Dependent on condition of car and spec, I'd say as low as £4.5K for a tired one. Mine's a 1993 standard RZ auto with about 35,000 miles (genuine) in tidy condition with a few upgrades but I doubt I'd get £6K for it if I tried to sell (good job I'm not selling then ). Some would go for more with different wheels, custom jobs (good ones) etc.

There are normally a few kicking around in the for sale section here - most are well looked after and have some traceable history. They will also be a lot more fairly priced than a dealership!

Yes its an auto, seems to be more expensive for a manual, and not that im condoning 100+ speeds, but if thats trues then i might go for a one with a spoiler, the one with the spoiler seems to have rustyish brake pads, is this normal for the age? and if not costly to replace?.

and just curious how hard are the spoilers to attach, to be honest im a bit useless with cars, sure i will learn, but best not to start to complex.

It's a doddle to fit a stock spoiler. Bit of plastic panelling in the boot, that pulls off, then 4 hex head bolts.

iirc it adds about 60lbs of downforce and that starts at 130mph ish.

At slower speeds however you're spoiler will make you're car look like a trolley with the big handle on the back. I hate the supra with a spoiler looks nasty then others say it looks nasty without one.

think its a marmite think, love it or hate it, im not to bothered either way, any opinions on the spec of the car im looking to buy?

Do you guys/gals find the supra to be reliable? and how expensive can they be to service?

Why not sell the Celica privately as you will get quite a bit more for it? which will then give you a wider choice of Supra's to go for as you won't be looking to part ex and you will have more money??

I would do the only problem being i cant be without a car for more than three or four days, due to random shifts i work, public transport pretty much impossible, am still leaving it open as an option
