View Full Version : What do you think to my new toy?
Well I've been wittering on about getting one for some time now and I saw this and had to have it. 1993 english car with 66k miles on the clock and only 1500miles in the last 2 years!! The guy I bought it off has had it for the last 10 years and he seemed a really nice guy. Oh and I really wanted a white one too  All for £1000, bargain.
Now I've gotta order a few modding parts to make me happy and the thing is modding an MX5 is soooo cheap in comparison to the Supra.
Very nice!
Needs some decent wheels first.....;)

Yeah I want some minilites but I think I'll just do a quick spray job myself of the existing wheels to gunmetal. Gotta get some coilovers on it too so I can drop it to the deck. Short term I'll be getting an induction kit and decat etc but I'd like to strip it out and put individual throttle bodies and higher comp pistons and bigger cams etc.
What a bargain! I wish I could find one that cheap, uk and low miles. Really fancy one for a mess with (under the pretence it's Vickis for the summer) ;)
been thinkin of one of them for years but would look like donkey kong racer in one of them
Looks great for that price - a good buy indeed;)
Its a bargain Nelly. Truck loads better than my Saxo 1.5D runaround but then again I need mega economy so that I can afford my beloved Supra :)
Anyway looks to me as if its Lydia's ;)

Lol, strange that as I was wanting to hang a little 'Hello Kitty' toy from the rear view mirror.:d

Yeah Lydia hated MX5's with a passion and threatened to disown me if I bought one but she had to drive it back and she really likes it now, so much so she's taking it to work tomorrow. Women!
I did forget to mention that there is a dent on the front passenger side wing from what appears to be where a builder decided to sit on it. A rear lens is also cracked but hey it cost a grand and I'm likely to dent it myself as it's my 'Super Mega Drift training car' :d
Where did you buy it from? The ones on the trader are prices way more than this?

Excellent cars, fantastic to drive, just don't have the space for one.

Pete, I started contemplating one a couple of months ago and started actively searching about a month ago and I found that with the money I wanted to spend (1 - 1.5k) all I could get was a early MK1 high miler. To compound matters prices were on the up for the summer :( With this I decided to wait until after summer when prices were dropping again, then miraculously a low mileage white one appeared in my price range which seemed too good to be true especially at the start of summer. For 3 days I tried ringing the number without response and I'd practically given up on it but I tried again yesterday and it was still for sale woo hoo! :) He sold it far too cheap as anything like equivolent is up for about 2k or more, but he wanted a quick sale...
Great little cars - and what a bargain
I was susprised at how good they are i had one at the beginning of the year and the handling was great although it did have quantum suspension which helped.. still a very classic shape i think.

I also reckon even if its a banger which it doesn't appear to be you've had a bargain. I had a couple of looks for a turbo'd car. £5-6k gets you a real track beasty with a 40 ish turbo on it and about 200 ish bhp. I've tried to get my other half to consider a turbo MX5 over an NA aero supe.

Nice looking car dude and they're the exact wheels I want. Are they 15's?

Hi Fella
Cheers - yep 15s , 2 peice split wheel - they are a japanese wheel something like Star , but they are very similar to many of the classic uk breed wheels. I had the centres out and colour coded to match the car.
Thanks
Gordon
cool, just need a large parking lot now ;)

 :twak:
turbo'd MX5 - handles great but styling?? common too  200bhp?
Aerotop NA Supra - GORGEOUS, unusual, around 220bhp unmolested?? :p
Unless you want to buy both and give me the aerotop :eyebrows:
lol
