Not always the case nowadays, big corporations have much more buying power than you or I buying single components.

Dell is not cheapest around really and I think that for 800 notes I could build really decent computer nowdays :p

Think its the Dimension 9200 with a graphics card and 22" monitor.

Anyone recomend a laptop for games?

In general a laptop will always be under powered over a desktop machine.

plus PC games look and run around 30000000000000 times better than a console.

I personaly would never buy a brand name PC esspecially for gaming even the really high spec ones are vastly over priced my rig according to alien ware would have cost me around £5k and I built it for just under £2k

Buy one of the XPS range Trig, this if you have to get a Dell. You should build your own or get someone to do it for you. Drop me a PM if you get stuck, its what i do :)
