GTO rarer than the Supra

Don't know what its like else where but GTO's are quiet rare round here but supra's are everywhere.

There are less around that are on the road.

It's all about supply & demand.... and scrap value

you can pick tt gto's up now for 800 to 1k.. i used to own one to my shame..

I looked at them at the same time I was buying my first Supra. I actually prefer the looks of them, but I thought it was pretty uninspiring to drive (at least, the one I drove was).

There's at least three that i see regularly around where i live, don't know if they're turbos or not. There's only one supra that i see regularly around here though, and me

i hardly see any supes but i sometimes see gtos driving around,

they try and race me all the time

hmmm a paper towel is stronger than there drivetrain.... they reguarly blow transfer box's and gearbox syncro's.... tuning them is a black art as well...

There are three GTO's where my misses works, two older models and one of the newer ones. Two of them prefer the soop, but i've not spoken to the other owner

And when you do see a GTO it's usually at the side of the road with its hazards on and the bonnet up or on the back of a recovery truck.

However at Santa pod you won't see one because they acheive warp factor one within 60 feet.

A friend of mine bought one last year it last 2 months before it started knocking, he loved it but then found out by talking to various people how unreliable they can be, he did'nt bother repairing it.

Any more than standard boost they tend to knock like a woodpecker and people that dont know what they are doing buy them turn up the boost and kaboom.

Had a MK2 TT and loved it, handled great and plenty of power but the gearbox synchro started to go on it. After reading about the costs involved.......bye bye GTO.

There used to be one going around here for a while but its disappeared, take it he got sick of it or put it through a wall.

Every review in car mags I ever read of the GTO said it was really dull to drive. I still think they look quite cool in an 80s mitsubishi kind of way but the supra seems to be a better car in every respect from driving to reliability to looks
