Simple question- if you paid XYZ to have an Emanage fitted and mapped, then your engine went bang on the way home, which tuners would say "that ain't my problem mate" and which would investigate the problem and fix it FOC if found that their map was at fault?

It's a general question btw.

Good question mate, but at the end of the day I think its more than likely to go bang on the rollers than on the way home, and should it be down to a mapping issue then I don't think that person should be doing that job!!

But interested to see the outcome

The way I see it is there are two reasons for the big bang on the way home.

a) Failure of a part on a 13 year old car or

b) Failure due to mapping, ie fueling\ignition.

Lets remember that we are exerting greatly increased forces on a car, and it's components, that were built to run 300 odd bhp and built a number of years ago. Failures will happen.

However, if you could prove that the the failure was due to ignition for example, then you may have a case for recompense via the tuner, and this should be covered by a reputable tuner. Dont know if it is tho.

When Ian C mapped my car, he gave me a hard copy of the map on the CD. So if something went bang i could have it check by someone else.

I have had issues that have been covered by turbofit that were not even there fault! e.g New Toyota part failure
