Going to get my car a bit sorted soon i am going to see my mechanic next week and wondered if you guys could tell me what you would expect the total cost of this little lot to come to so i have something to compare to when i speak to him:

Cambelt

aux belt

valve stem seals

pulleys

Also anything else you think i should get done whilst i am there

If he's doing the Valve Stem Seal the 'Head off' way mate, udget a good £800 for labour and parts as you'll need to renew the head gasket. TF charged me £1000 but that including a few other bits.

Chris Wilson changed by Cambelt and Auxillary belt too in Dec IIRC, but again with other bits like the Crank Damper.

I'd say you are looking at about £1200 for the service though mate.

Get all the fluids changed, subframe bolts checked, oil filer replaced too.

Valve stem seals? ............ WHY?

Pulleys............what do you mean? crank pulley?

Coolant might as well be done with the cambelt.

Diff oil change? very easy to DIY

PAS fluid - again a fairly easy DIY

well, he came round last night and says the valve stem seals are fine as the smoke looks like water out of the exhaust, so i should just be looking at the other stuff so it shouldnt bee too expensive hopefully, thanks for the info.
