if its the noise of the actual gear being selected, then i do believe that is a common noise and nothing to worry about. hope that helps
im gona go down to the body shop myself and have a listen for myself and opefully its wat u said and ill let u know thanks for your help
The 'clonking' sound is quite common in Supras... mine clonks when I come to a stop on certain side sloping roundabouts..
I had the shocks replaced (well, not solely because of this!), subframe torque tightened (this is the most common cause), but still with the clonking... not loud, but just noticeable.
If you suspension set up is solid, check your sub frame... and then forget about it :p
Have a look here (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=67799) for the subframe settings.
(Also a plug for one of CJ's manuals at the end of the thread.. I recommend)
I have this. It's worn bushes on the upper rear suspension arm.
Hi , I have the clonking noise as well, but its from the front when braking and then moving again, am I suggested to change the front control arms as well? thanks
