I'm looking at buying a car that is based in Bristol but it would need transporting back home to leicestershire, has anyone ever had to transport a car before? how much is it likely to cost?

Ive done a couple of online quotes with companies but they havent got back to me yet.

Cheers.

I used Mel last year who, was very good.

Give him a call to get a price & if you are not in such a rush, he can reduce your costs be getting an load down to Bristol.

If the car is a wide arch car....then Mel can't do this. Stock body car's are fine.

Garry Pickering has transported my car twice and it's worked out fine for me. He's based in Bristol and I thought his rates were good.

His number is 07878 253311 or there's a website:

As a rough guide I paid £200 for each time i transported my old Landy 250 miles, north to south, then back again.

Thanks CJ, how much roughly would you think it would cost fom Bristol to Leicester? Just a very rough guess will do.

I think Mel charges ~£150 if he has a return load.

But, it might be based on how far he has to go too ?

Others on here have used him.

Just thought i'd update this thread to say that i ended up using Garry Pickering of http://gp-rs.co.uk/
And the service was fantastic, he helped me out big time and was very cheap too.

Definately reccommend him for anyone else who needs a car shifting.
