View Full Version : pic of suprasteveo's tank parking
just thought id share i pic of suprastevo's tank a few years back, only just seen it again, was quite funny :d
he had to strip to his boxers to dig out the front before the REME would tow it out,and that was only 30 mins into the exercise
we still had 3 days to go

Jesus, calling it a slight boo boo is understatement :D
LOL - nice one Steveo, but could have been quite nasty.
One of our guys did much the same on Salisbury Plain a good few years back. Only he was driving a Chieftain with a front splash-plate and went through an ice-covered dip in the track. Unfortunately the ice was about 6" thick and smashed the splash plate straight back into his face. 6 months of surgery later and he was OK to carry on soldiering...
I don't suppose he's responsible for this too?
(another 3RTR one from back in the 80's)
Looks more like a boat than a tank ;)
Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers

my dad has got that photo, hes ex 1rtr and it was dished out to everyone
Don't see how - I took it and still have the original.. ;)
Taken at the 3RTR washdown in Paderborn back in 1980. A NIG forgot that the brake pads would be wet after washing down the engine decks. :D
we get a lot of crashed cars down here,we then use them on the area for tank training :d and for using on demos
as a self confessed "trackhead" great to see tanks on the forum, is it a challenger 1 or 2 ?, couple of useless facts, in comparison to the supe this bad boy has a 1200hp motor (power to weight might not be as good as the supe ;) ) and in Iraq one made a first round kill of a T62 at nearly 4000 metres range:(
I had a quick go in a Scimitar when I was in the army cadets, got sent away for a weekend with the Light Infantry, was fantastic, until I was in the turret, but not on the 'commanders' side, and he turned the turret the other way to me, and I got my left leg caught in some rollbar style thingy... Damn that hurt, and the bruises didn't go away for months!...
Still didn't stop me putting my application in for Welbeck though.... Shame they throught my other knee wouldn't hold up on me :(
