Alternator Shield.

After my alternator let go on a long drive recently, im beginning to think its my water pump thats possibly leaking. The leaking water would have gone straight onto the alternator, and shafted it completely.

Is there any sort of shield or cover available for the alternator to protect it from water?

Or is it going to be some sort of D.I.Y jobby?
