yeah that makes total sense mate. When i was about 10, i was out playing 1 day, and came across a baby blue tit, it was very young, obviously fallen from a nest. Like you do at that age, i decided he needed a new home. So put him in my pocket and took him home. Made a little box for him, with some cotton wool as a bed, and a jam jar lid with some water incase he got thirsty. Was very chuffed with myself. Went to bed and came down to check my new pet first thing, only to see he had fallen face first in the jam jar lid and drowned.
Sorry, but writing that actually made me chuckle, but it was very sad at the time :)

make them run and run and run and run until they can barely stand, they SHOUT at them until they are too scared to move, then set the shot up, take a biscuit out and show them and hey presto...
I am joking. ;)
Stig is a good boy but I never thought I'd get Scraps to do that, it was kind of luck, we took about 150 pics that day and got maybe 20 good ones. If I ever get the others off my mate I'll post some up.

I'd always wanted one and it took me ages to find Apollo, in the end I was fortunate enough to find him in a rescue centre in Lincoln.
If you want a Malaumte you are looking at approx £800 for a puppy, I saw some for sale in my local paper the other day, which is unusual as most breeders have a 12-18 month waiting list!

Malamutes are beautiful dogs, I have always fancied one, but with all our animals it would be a nightmare, they are so difficult to make obedient and their prey drive is hard to break, too. On looks alone though they are a stunning animal. Has the pup been after the other livestock yet?

Yeah you have to be so careful, they can be buggers!
I've only ever let Apollo of the lead twice. The first time he crashed through an electric fence to chase some pigs, the pigs stood their ground and he decided it wasn't worth the hastle and walked off!
2nd time was on a (what I thought) was a deserted beach in Wales, I let him off but in the very far distance Apollo spotted a boarder collie and took off after it, he jumped into the sea to catch the collie while it was fetching a ball, luckilly I managed to jump on him when he came out of the water :d

Im quite lucky with mine, he has been allowed off the lead since he could go out, so he is pretty good at coming back. Sometimes he is having way too much fun and ignores me. but he is still young!!!

Let's see what you say when he's 18 months :) Neighbours have 3 pyreneeans, they too are a stubborn SOB breed. Luckily they are either overweight or have bad hips, so can't jump a 3 foot 6 inch fence. They seem to dislike me, and our Russians dislike them! They seem to take absolutely no notice of their owners, so if they do get out God knows what will happen, one has defintely got an eye on taking a lump out of me.

Unfortunately, Apollo wasn't rescued until he was 18 months old and hadn't been socialised with other dogs. While he was at the rescue centre he lived next to mostly GSD's (and learned to bark like a GSD's too!).
