Celica spring combatability?

I've been looking for some springs for my dad's Gen6 Celica GT as his has been lowered and is too harsh.

Been offered some OEM springs off a 94 Gen6 JDM SSI (wtf does SSI mean?) but the question is, are they interchangable?

Are the spring rates different between the UK and JDM Celicas?

The SS1, iirc, is the superstrut suspension and isn't compatible with the standard suspension. iirc there were 2 or 3 variants / generations of the superstrut suspension.
