Right, well as we know, the boot is about big as a gnats chuff, so it got me thinking to putting twin 10" subs.  I'd rather have two equally spaced 10"s than one big sub, get some air moving around.

Now, there are a few things I worry about:

1) security.  Everyone can plainly see into the boot - that horrible roller 'parcel shelf' thing has been binned due to it's faded and stained nature.  What to do, what to do...

2) Overall sound quality.  I'm not a complete idiot, I realise sound quality of ANY sound in a car is going to be hit and miss, and I'm not prepared to spend thousands of pounds and hours of time just to make the car system sound almost as good as a cheapish seperates system....however the way I can see it, is mounting the subs in a sloped position, with the enclosures at a similar angle to the back window - and therefore not hindering rearview any more.  But firing towards the glass - good or bad idea?

3) Sound levels - have the amplifier (bought alongside the subs) be best just bridged to power the subs, or will I find the lack of power in the front noticable?  I don't want to kill anyone with the bass, just provide a bit of a thud.

Any input much appreciated!

Low frequencies are most prone to phase cancellation and, because the ears work on difference in phase angle, you can't tell where low frequencies are coming from; hence why you often see left and right bass drivers either physically located in the same cabinet or even sometimes mixed into the same driver. This ensures you don't get common frequency phase cancellation.
Bottom line, if you're going to fit 2 units, stick 'em as close together as you can get 'em and both pointing the same way, any way, just so long as it's the same.
