Working on it, don't want to confirm until i'm 100%, if someone beats me to the spare ticket or you have to book rooms without me, go ahead, i'll make do or sort something when / if I get out there.

To stop me phoning round does anyone have normal annual cover that allows a few days abroad every year?

Ok, dudes, to catch up, as it seems I have missed a little.

Firstly, I wont be taken breakdown cover with me, cant afford it with the £450 I have already shelled out on getting my breaks sorted for the trip, then in a couple of weeks I have to shell out between £800 - £1000, on new bumper arriving, spray, and fit. So the £130, or wheat ever it is, is out of the question. I take it someone with membership can still do that passenger, I can call them trick, seems a bit cheeky I know, but if Sod was to lay his law upon me.......

also Im bringing a fellow dude with me......

And Millhouse, it seems we are pretty similar people, cant wait to meet ya man......

Scooter
10-09-03, 23:37
Ash FYI, i've been doing a bit of digging around for european cover (cheers to everyone for the links /info) and it seems the AA will cover non members for the two days for £18 ish. This is for the full recovery home / put you up in a hotel if need be type cover.

Dunk, seriously if we're with Earth, we will get pulled by customs, they take one look at the bloke and say you got dreds, you must be a gansta, even though really he's a wee ball of fluff, like you find in your belly button, WTF !!!!!!

Hmm.. I guess I'll be giving Earth's a miss.. no point heading out to pick up Keith, then turning around and heading London-wards again, unless I were to do it on the way through.

I'll have to have a look through and see what time train we're getting, gonna be a few hours driving to even get out to where I need to be (I think about 150 mile morning for me).

Hopefully if it's early enough, there will be no traffic about to make my life any harder than it has to be :D

I'm having problems arranging to get myself down to Newhaven to collect the car on Friday, what with me working in Southampton and all. Provided I get there and back OK on Friday then I will be OK for Dam and meeting you on Saturday, OTOH if things don't go smoothly on Friday (do they ever?) then I won't be going at all.
Sorry to piss you guys about but I'm totally dependant on Dude now, if my car isn't going to available until the last minute it doesn't leave me much room for contingency.

Hi Dunk well its better to buy one but Sham has got two...so has one spare but will need batteries for two days (4 x AAA's)...one set should last if switched off when in cafes or overnite.....I'll try borrow my brovs as he has two radios....but we are always short and its userly the one or two that dosn't have a radio that gets lost...its not absolutley essential to have one...but it does make it easier for everyone to stick together etc etc..

There are 4 radios so far I think...

Exactly how will you be approaching the M20/M25 junction? Just so I can give you good directions.

12-09-03, 15:19
GRR!

Major ADSL problems since 4pm yesterday afternoon, has seen me have to sign up for a 1p/min dialup account today while my ADSL is dead. F**king BT doing upgrades, my DSL provider said they have over 800 people currently off the air because of this.

Anyway..

re: Radios - I've bought 2, one for Ashley one for myself, so we have at least 6 cars with radios unless others are buying them. They seem fairly decent, 60 quid for 2 radios + charger + rechargable batteries + 2 headsets from Argos - product number 553/0025 if anybody needs it - BT Freeways as per Green's recommendation.

No idea how we're going to get to you, Keith.. maybe give Earthrokka a call? I guess I'll be travelling with them. If we're leaving Earth's at 7:30 then I'll aim to get there by ~6:45? Sound reasonable? Means leaving Aylesbury about 5:15. This part is gonna suck :D .. though at that time of morning there will be NO police or traffic about.. I could probably afford to leave a bit later and put my foot down :)

Millhouse/Green - what do you have 1 of? PM me, I may be able to help.. :D

Lastly, can't wait for this - it's going to be a top laugh I'm sure :) All you paupers, there's one more ticket.. Scooter? Have you decided? I'm going to offer it up in chit chat unless it's already been done.. Scooter with first reserve if he says yes but it'd be nice if we could have the full flock :)

Can somebody PM me Earthrokka's phone number and address pelase?

I think that's about it.. look forward to seeing y'all tomorrow :)

Hehe sorry for the confusion -

I meant I'd be at Earth's about 6:45 (he suggested leaving his place at 7:30), that was the "sound reasonable?" question :)

I figure I'll head out to Earth's, meet up with everybody else then hook up with you on the way through, with the rest of them.

Take the M20/M25 (J3) junction. Take the first exit off the roundabout. Follow the road as it curves first to the right then to the left. Go down the hill, and as it starts to go up again you will see a Jet petrol station on the right. I'll meet you there at 7:30 :)

WOW!! What a blast!! Great to see the guys not seen before and put names to faces. The convoying was superb. Excellent drive-bys and some great footage taken of high-speed action and a flame-throwing Rx-7.

Talk about having the luck of the devil, after all the hassle trying to get a hotel for weeks from here. We turn up in Amsterdam, and land ourselves a 5-star hotel!!

Amsterdam. Wonderful city, full of character(s) and drama(tisation) :-) lurvely bir...err, I mean people. We had their eyes out on stalks when we arrived especially at night with the dancing lights... Had a great night. Some visited the bars and mingled with the talent (no, not in the RLD :) whilst others did other things...Got back to the hotel at around 3.30.

Next day, had a quick lunch at mceedees, then enjoyed a sound-off between Earth and Si (Rub-a -dub vs. Drum and Bass). I wonder if any of the locals got served any food as most of the staff came out to watch and take photos...

Stopped off at Antwerp on the way back. Thanks to 'Green Reaper' we took the scenic route (only joking dude!) Beautiful city. Will visit again. Much easier to convoy - we sauntered through the town square receiving much acclaim - Funny watching people watching us, as first they see one, then two, then...they must get whiplash. Parked up, had a quick snack then onto Calais...

Always a good reception at Calais. Though there were less people about this time round, it being Sunday. Did a few 'carousels' at the roundabouts (you know, where the cars go round a couple times before peeling off at the exit - Looks great!). Went to the waterfront for a bit of a laff, photos, and another sound-off.

The journey home was fun, it was like a Supra party on the road - 4 abreast, then arrow-formation etc with some leary tunes being played.

Finally, massive respect to EarthRokka for sorting the trip oh and the small matter of dropping me home.

Rgds,

Roy

You'd be surprised how many private tracks we went on with this trip.. through England, then each of the countries on the way to Amsterdam.. long stretches of private race track where 7 lumps of metal were screaming along at up to 150 to get to destinations on time.. We failed, in EVERY SINGLE case :) Missed the train on the way over (though that was Eurostar's fault for putting others on in our space, we JUST made it in time), missed the train on the way back (slow service in Antwerp for lunch - oh well).. instead we got to burn around Calais a bit and show the locals what some real machines look like.

Fortunately, we only saw a few 'pace cars' on our way through, and none of them hassled us so all in all result on that front :)

Everywhere we went, we got massive respect and people looking in awe at the machines that were passing them. 6 Supras and an RX7 overtaking at double the speed others were going (all legally of course - they were just really slow) were getting quite a few amazed reactions from fellow road users; Antwerp ground to a standstill as people came out from cafes and streets lined with people just stopped and stared in amazement; Calais was the best reaction we got though. Nowhere near the amount of people as Antwerp, but kids running down the street to where we parked to see the cars, others driving laps around where we'd parked just to get another look, and one phrase that was heard extensively in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Calais -

"SUPRA! SUPRA! YEAH SUPRA GOOD!" :D

I only really know one side of the stories as we were all split up in Amsterdam (those of us who made it out of the hotel) into 2 groups.. one group went cafe-wards til about 3am then headed back to the hotel for a nightcap, the others.. well, I hear Earthrokka scored himself quite a cute little Dutch boy... :)

Some people lasted the distance (myself, Millhouse and his mate that I can't remember the name of), some made it most of the way (Ash, poor fucker after having no sleep at all and Dunk + his mate made a pretty good show of it) and some.. well, some didn't even leave the building (Green and Ash's mate). :)

Was a bit of a mess trying to find hotels.. Let this be a lesson - never turn up on one of the busiest weekends in Amsterdam with no hotel booked! Fortunately we scored a decent 5 star hotel out near Schiphol airport, which was a ~30 quid taxi anywhere into Amsterdam. Split amongst a few, that's not so bad.

I swear, it was the only place in the whole damn country that had rooms available for 14 people, AND private car parking with security that check the video tapes, that was in reach of the city centre - our list of demands was extensive, I can't beleive we found somewhere that satisfied everyone (a bit on the expensive side, but a job well done all the same). Hell, it was the only place in the whole damn country with rooms available full stop - the fact it had the rest of our requirements was just an amazing coincidence.

Dr. Millhouse did his best at killing everybody shortly after our arrival, and managed to take us on a route to Antwerp that not only quadrupled the distance to get there, but had loads of cool tunnels too! :D Some unbeleivable sound through the tunnels we travelled, but nothing - and I mean NOTHING - compared to the noise that RX7 made! Flames spitting out the exhaust, roaring its head off - there's some awesome footage coming your way, I can assure you.

It really was a laugh-a-minute, non stop action ride from start to finish.. we were behind schedule from the moment we left Earth's place, but we still found plenty of time to see and do lots.

This was my first time in all of these places (except a very short, shit stay in Amsterdam previously), and my first time to such a meet.. and I'm going again.

The only way to really know what happened and how cool it was.. is to come along too. The rest of the stories are top secret :D

yes i could

but when you transfer it to a pc the video takes 12GB for 1 hour of captured video

i have 50 mins of video

how many CDs you work it out

but i could change the format to AVI or Mpeg to make it smaller

pulse

Hmmm.. whichever you'd prefer is fine by me..

It's probably a bit more useful in mpeg format (I only have my laptop which has 40gb total, and about 10gb free but I can easily make space), but I'm happy with whatever you're happy to do to it :) As I say, if you can't be bothered compressing it all, then I'll just buy you a box of 25 CDs or something.. but it's probably easier to just compress it down to a gig or two :)

Cheers :D

Well ME I'm still alive...heres my version of events:

In Summery...I had a wicked time..as did my brov...we have never laughed so much...Really good bunch of people..

Went through too many Red light areas , and through too many red lights in order to keep up, and killed too many stoned cyclists...ended up in Crowne Plaza...where I smoked something I thought was 'run of the mill' perfectly legal there...I think. and I'm not exactly new to it...but definately new to the strongest Skunk Ive ever smoked (there)

Really nice room in the Crowne Plaza...v expensive...when you consider that I spent the night on the bathroom floor...but Hmmm the less said bout that the better.
I had a nibble on a bagette at 12.00 other than that I hadn't eaton ...so not surprised really...but I wasn't the only victim..!!!!!

Rokka was on top form....Def up for the next one but will...hopefully buy my own stash first so I know exactly what I'm smoking plus will eat food as well...nobody's fault but mine really...I'm Man enough to admit that at least...and every one was really good to me about it...until they get back and go on the BBS that is.
:D

Can't wait for next one...soz no pics from me this time ...but can't wait to see everyone elses as they all worked real hard at getting good video and stills....

Well guys, I truely had a fucking ace time, good to meet Nigel, Raoul I have met before, the Mazda sounding great, although I hope it made the journey back, as he stayed there for an extra day and it seemed a littel ruff. Pulse, good to meet you, PM your bank details, Keith, good to see you again, shame you didnt have the car. Kev, well Kev what can i say, although Im a little disapointed how Im being included in your kill list, I was still walking at the end of it, and after being awake for 30hours. But Kevs motor was deffo something out of a Cheach and Chong (sp) movie, god knows how you passenger survived, he looked Chineese by the end of each day, he really couldnt have seen much while being shot down the motorway at god knows what speed, I doubt he really cared by that point. Mish, Sham, Earth, what ever you want to call him, led us to all the great spots in style. Good to meet Dunk, man you were one funny bloke that night after a few smokes, had me in stitches, motor looked lovelly, and it was interesting to see someone trying to fit a FCD on the shuttle, he was asking for trouble.

Had some great drives up and down, although I got the distinct feeling Dunk was on a mad one coming back, never have I seen a car so close to my bumper, Im sure he was pushing me, so when I spotted the 1000cc bike with passenger fly past I booted past the group on a chase mission for the bike, looks in my rear view mirror to see Dunk suddenly swearving out of the group and start chasing me down, next thing we knew we were out of radio contact from the others, but had a good play with the bike reaching tops around 140mph, I think........

The radios are a great idea, really add another angle to the cruise thing, a lot better than just following the car in front, good to be able to hear everyone and talk back.

Good to see so many petrol station over the weekend, my fuel bill ended up quite big. As said before we was on a schedule all weekend, constantly making up time to get to the next place, which was good becuase then we had an excuse to boot it above a ton, like we needed one anyway.

Also my highlight on the way home, was Keith spotted flames out of my zorst, nice sized ones as well.

Kev PM your bank details as I owe you money as well, Mish sort you out when I drop by your place for my tin.

All in all it was a top weekend, and cant wait for the next one....

New names:

Green Supra = White Supra.
Kev = Green House.
Ash = King of flames.
Dunk = Brown bat out of hell.

Guys, I will post digi pics, but camcorder cant do straight away. Si can you capture it for me.

Edited: Did anyone see me and Dunks car passing a fag from one window to the other while driving down the motorway. Thats a bit scary trying to get 2 cars that close while travelling at that speed, pretty sure it was Dunks car, Im sure someone will correct me, was funny as hell though......

DREADLOCK HOLIDAY (SUPPLIED BY kev GREENHOUSE)

I am yet again very happy to hear that y'all had a great time. Another satisfied bunch :D

Yes the Dutch Ladies were ..... nuff said on that 1. It was nice to have such an easy going buch. U see, when when u r doing something like this which sometimes requires alteration To TIME or DESTINATIONS etc.. then u need that factor where people dont moan .. just look forward to the 1 after ;) it helps.

Definitely Makes my job easier to try to give the best out of whatever is left to offer. It is not all bout just turning up in any city centre and pose  in some places u risk to get told off by the ol bill for blocking the traffic etc.. so, there is a little more to it than that. Most importantly the crew has to be really easy going and up for a laff anytime anywhere .. and can take a joke when the whole group decides to take the p1ss for a little while and gang up on 1 poor bast'rd .. I usually end up getting it .. :p but this time i was lucky Roy wasn't here :D .

Yes, there will be another 1 but i wont take u lot to the DAM again ! dont want no casualties :p or group of 10 + turn into a 6 or 7 ..heheh ...

******Watch out Killa KEv iz about*******

Boy am I glad to be a T total ..yes thats right ..dreadlock iz a T total.. love the smell of herb but dont do it (not coz of the law, just dont) , wont do Alcohol coz i hate the smell etc.. and b4 u ask yes i do have sex, cant live without..heheh...

Pulse, u were such an easy going geeeza .. deffo on the Rokkaz list.
Dunk.. Although u think i called u a Knob .. i can assure u that was directed at Ash :p maximum respect my friend.. n yes i will get u a copy of ALi's vid etc..

Nigel is the man with the noise machine.. must have u again, pulled a nice tall good looking Hollander, but thought no, must stay faithfull :D

Raoul, were we in a Club Mobile travelling at 140 + or what ? Funky house with heavy base kicking, then Some mind blowing Trance not forgetting me DUB Roots Reggae.. screaming down the M25.
Shame yer beast wasn't there ..

Ash u beeeyatch, remember when i was looking for u in the Dam and i couldn't see u .. U were right in front of me :p ..man = Smoke Less and Eat More..hehehe otherwise u b gone with the wind 1 day..
Big up Steve from me too..

Mate, yer motor screams Fuck off at other cars .. love it.

I know u had flames and that wasn't just from yer car Exhaust..hehe.. stop at mine when u back to work.

Green/white Supra .. mate u were unlucky.. but pulled through
ok i'm glad. yer bruv takes all praises.
Sounds System clash was ace .. had all the audience dancing to our Tunes .. ruff .. SOOOOPRAAAAHHHHH...

Keith c ..any journey wothout u now is not on .. Welcome to the Rokkaz gang bad bwoy.

And last but by any means not least ..KEV Mill/Green house...

******* DA HOOD KILLAH ******
killing off the krew.. 1 by 1, some survived, some didn't ..but i was lucky not to go there !

What was that treat on the way back on board of the EUROSHUTTLE !? from distance I saw these Dreadlocks but bright white faces underneath staring at me  I thought i 'm too tired to go for a Tussle with this lot .. then, it was KEV, SI the guilty ones organising this to make me feel at home with some dreadlocks..in fact they scared me ! first thought was, ooh bugggahh .. yardeeeeez on the train ... betta grab me AK..hehe

All in All it was EXCELLENT.. NEXT TIME WILL BE THE SOUTH OF FRANCE..

PEACE

I can say from experience, get it delimited before even trying one of these trips.. 140+ was far from unheard of in most of the travelling done :D

Brief conversation in my car with Keith as we got into France:

Me: Must remember those speed signs mean km's, not miles
Keith: Doesn't really matter, the way this will end up they may as well mean miles
----
Me about 10 minutes later: Jesus, we haven't even got close to sticking to them as miles!

:D

Glad to hear the rest of the crew had an awesome time too.. I've been talking about it pretty much non stop since getting back..

We MUST do this again :)

Highlights:
Antwerp, I thought that place was wicked, I loved it :)
Amsterdam, what can you really say about the red and green city? Fantastic time there, I agree with Ash 100% - Dunk mate, you're a killer when you've had a smoke :)
Greenhouse the killer, top bloke
Everybody else, awesome people, awesome time, Earthrokka said it best - fantastic to be around such a chilled, cool bunch of peeps.

Looking forward to hooking up soon :)
