View Full Version : CJ & Martin R send off (meet, eat (& sleep))

SteveR

:trumpet: Attention please! :trumpet:

As most of you will know, CJ is off to Kos, and Martin R is moving to Scotland. :bye:
EDIT - And without me realising Ian R has also moved! Hopefully Ian will be with us on the day too so we can say a belated goodbye.

We can't let these chaps just leave so a send-off is in order! :friday:

We shall meet on Saturday 26th May at 3pm at the Barn Owl pub, just off Junction 6 of the M5. Postcode is WR4 9UP for you sat-nav-ers.
It's 5 mins from the M42, about 20 mins drive from the top of the M40 and 15mins from the M50. It's nice and accessible so there are no excuses for not coming and saying bye! :)
(map (http://www.multimap.com/maps/#t=l&map=52.21293,-2.17727|15|4&loc=GB:52.21293:-2.17727:16|WR4%209UP|WR4%209UP))

The pub does food - hence eat - whenever the urge takes you just order away; the layout of the pub is pretty casual. I'm not going to book tables as it'll get far too complicated to manage and there isn't really any need (prepares to eat his hat...).

If you are traveling from afar (or just want to get bladdered) and want somewhere to stay over (sleep), there is a Premier Travel Inn less than half a mile walk away; £55/room.

lol :D

I gave my mates hamster some beer at the weekend, he/she/it was loving it! I'm sure I fed some other animal some cider recently, too, I forget what though as Kate was more annoyed with me that I kissed her afterwards - and that I'd drunk from the same can in-between. ;)

lol no mate - you said you wanted to avoid that one. This one is about half a mile off J6 rather than J7 (so 1 junciton nearer to you).

The roundabout at the motorway exit is pretty large/tricky/confusing - just make sure you take the correct exit - the one just after the Northbound M5 traffic's off-slip, if that makes sense? :search:

Burna
24-05-07, 19:21
I think I know this pub then, pretty sure it used to be called something else years ago. Think it's the same one we had a Japworcs meet at last summer. Great pub if it's the one.

Can't wait to see you all :)

I can't remember off the top of my head where I am that weekend (here or Sheffield) but if I'm around we should at least meet up for a pint if nothing else. That reminds me, I owe you several beers and at least 2 litres of purple oil! :D

I'll break the Supe out then, it's as good an excuse as any. ;)
Not sure when Trick will be arriving but I'll be there from 3pm (as organiser I owt to be!) if you're particularly keen to get started.

IIRC you only need a screwdriver to get to the bit you're after(?), but don't depend on me to bring anything cos I'll probably forget! :)

I ran a temporary wire so I know it's not the switch and I can fudge it in time for MOT retest. Just wish I know where it was actually broken.
Hanging upside down in the passenger footwell isn't very comfy and I don't have time to trace properly as I'm due out the door to meet you in 5 mins!

That was a bit of a shame really as only Steve - Supra61 did. It was one of his first meets and I think he was led to believe it'd be a bit of a late one with plenty of beers. It didn't turn out that way though, I left him and his wife with Burna and TrickTT at about 19:30
