Guest McMsk
Hi, I am currently looking for an Automatic gearbox as mine is fading. How much do working ones usually sell for in good working condition? On the other side i have been looking at the ones from Boost Logic and Sound Performance. Is one superior to the other? Sound Performance lists what they do to the gearboxes, while Boost Logic just refers to all the happy people doing 10's and 11's with them. Anyone has experience with the BL / SP boxes? Thanks, Paul
Sheefa
Second hand autoboxes can be had in their plenty mate - especially with people going manual Turbofit have a stock of boxes on the shelves most no doubt in good working order. I'm sure you'll be able to pick a decent one up for £100. In terms of the BL and Built Boxes, depens what kind of power you're after? What are you running at the moment and are you looking for big power gains in the future? The stock autobox iirc is good for approx. up to 400rwhp, maybe a tad more - someone will confirm no doubt. Millsy
I got a used one from Jezzybabes - can't remember if it was £200 or £300 though. It's about three months old now and seems to be going fine still
paul mac
dont know anything about the SP box except it is a lot more expensive than the BL, i have run a Boostlogic built auto with a 3200 hi stall for about a year now and it all depends what you want from the car, personally i run a single with 500 rwhp and wanted the car to be Banzai off the lights which it does pretty damm good, if you are sticking stock or BPU i would try to get as lower mileage stock gearbox (tricky now i would think) and fit it with a hi-stall which will make a big difference to how the car goes from a standing start, if you are not into "spirited" driving just stay with the stock box as the change up on the BL can be a bit harsh
