Viscous Fan broke, is this related?

Hi,

Recently my viscous fan jammed up and doesnt move by hand anymore, its making that wooshing noise, anyway, so I got another one in and going to fit it this weekend - my problem is, my car doesnt seem to have the same power as it used to since it broke, is this related in any way? its a TT manual and i definately know some power is missing from before...

A locked up solid , but normally viscous driven, fan of the size and pitch of the Supra one will sap quite a few BHP to drive it fast. This may well be the slight power loss you feel.
