wheel alignment (car too wide)

went to turbofit today, 2 kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

came back only killing 1,

car was to wide for the ramps, and only just went on turbofits ramps for the exhaust.

and i thought ramp height was my main issue.

where to now

is it too low for fingerlifts mate?

u need to go somewhere where they have a lifting ramp built in the ground to lift your car up

i think the point hes making that he cant get it inbetween the 2 posts for the finger lifts?

I watched Ian squeezing it in between the posts. Think 18 year old virgin, and Ron jeremy and you'l get the idea how tight it was!

Are pits still legal in garages?

I thought they were'nt for some reason, noxious gases settling at the bottom and getting mechanics higher then Pete Docherty, i guess an extractor could sort that out.

I've just been down and talked to the guys at ProTyre in Poole.

They reckon they should just about be able to get it on their alignment ramps with about 1mm to spare each side on the adjustment plates.

Bit of a trek, but if all else fails it's an option to explore.

They said to bring the settings you need with you.

i need a speacilist, as the tyres are not sitting flat, due to non-stock wheels.

SI where did you take your car, ive just done an oil change and found I need 3 tyres As if my bank balance hasnt had enough this month!

seriously, try super tyres in Maldon (01621 840100) I'd be amazed if they can't do it (I've been told, but don't know whether to believe that alot of the Ferrari garages use them!)

how much did it cost for the alignment? not that it matters too much as seems to be only place that can do it, could you feel an improvement, did they put in their own settings?

yep, i told them they couldnt go by the stock settings, which they understood.

yes the steering wheel went so light, which showed how far out it was.

£50 plus vat

Mine is well out, by the way my front tyres have tread on the outside and threads on the inside. safe to say wont be at japfest
