View Full Version : Global annual travel insurance suggestions?
Does anyone have any tips or advice on getting annual travel insurance?
With the Dragonball, Rhodes and China this year I decided it would be cheaper, so looked at the Money Supermarket (http://www.moneysupermarket.com/travelinsurance/travelresults.asp?id=7896810) and found Flexicover Direct seemed very competitive for their top package.
Thanks.
Get a premium current account from your bank. For a mere ~£10/month you often get many freebies like travel insurance and AA cover (I do).
But that's £120 compared to £51 I've found.
Vicki has done this already with Barclays, but travel insurance isn't included unless she pays £15 a month for the next deal up. I guess it's ok if you use all the perks.
Think of it this way - it's normally about £150 for AA cover per year, and this gets you roadside and homestart, and you get travel insurance for free. It's up to you of course.
Travel insurance itself is actually quite cheap to buy on it's own these days.
By the way, I'm sure it was you I was parked next to yesterday - I said I thought it was Jakes car...remember? It was only in the evening I put two and two together.

Unfortunately the RAC helped themselves to my bank account the beginning of last month (80 quid). I soon cancelled that DD.
Ah yes! I think I mumbled something about Ridox kits. Sorry I didn't talk much more. I'd just dumped Vicki track side to do a few runs and she really wouldn't have appreciated it if I'd stood around gassing! ;)
I was having a good look at yours - very tidy. I took a few pics of the next to each other to compare directly kit/no kit and also mine lowered vs your not (I think?).
Mine's lowered all right, but only by 25mm at the front, 20mm at the back. Maybe the bigger wheels hide it though - you can clearly see the wider track from the 285s though, the way the arches are filled out.

You sure can!
I have some Volks in the garage that are 285.
I wonder by how much mine has been dropped then, it was visibly lower which made me think yours was stock. Hmmmm.
