TRD wheel - dimensions compared to stock

Just about to order a TRD wheel with airbag... main reason apart from having a better looking wheel is to get a slightly smaller one than stock to give me a bit more room around the knees (I am 6'5).

How much smaller is it than stock? I have been told it's 350mm but that means nothing to me, I don't know the diameter of the stock one... and car is in body shop over the weekend :(

I'll try to remember to measure my TRD wheel tomorrow for you. :)

Although I never bothered to compare the TRD wheel with the standard one (which I've now bunged into storage), like Chief, my impression is that it feels smaller. It certainly made the car more comfortable to drive and gave me more room around the knees.

TRDvOEM

I'm pretty sure they are the same size, it does look smaller (TRD) but I think its an optical illusion :D

Gaz.

Gaz is correct.

I would say their is 1-2mm in it (TRD being smaller) but, this is because the actual wheel, the part you put your hands on and grip is actually not as chunky on the TRD wheel compared to the OEM which, is rather fat.

Since I went from the 4spoke to the TRD, the overall presense of the wheel "feels" smaller and under your grip it is.

Here are some photo's.

A few more pic's side by side.

Brilliant :)

I am still in two minds, it's a shame that this is the only way of getting a nicer wheel w/airbag.

I see most people on here with aftermarket steering wheels don't bother with airbags.

If I get a Isotta (sp?) wheel with no airbag, will I get an airbag light permanently illuminated on the dash?

Also, will the passenger airbag be disabled too?

When I bought mine it came with the aftermarket wheel on it, the previous owner gave me the original wheel and the bulb from behind the dash, he had just taken the bulb out :D

Haven't had any problems yet after 2 years *touchwood*

I don't think this has interfered with the passenger airbag but could be wrong :search:
