Hi chaps,
Are there any issues with mounting a mutilchanger in the boot?
Most Supras seem to have single CD's in the front - is there a reason for this.
I am getting Pi**ed with my single Kenwood unit - it has no memory in the datastream and the hard suspension of the Supra causes it to skip like a child with a rope!
Any recommendations etc would be well received (Matt et al)
Also replacement speakers for the stocks in the doors - recommendations. I dont have the time to arse about with larger enclosures so we are talking like for like.
I look forward to hearing your views,
Regs,
Johnb.
The UK spec cars have a 6 disc changer in the boot as standard and there is no problem with it jumping. Although is the j-Spec suspension slightly stiffer than the UK?

Hey guys,
Mine has a 6 disc Kenwood changer in the boot-
It is an import with a very low ride height and is quite firm (suspension wise)
I have cut out the polystirene(sorry about the dodgy spelling) where some of the supra`s have there sub mounted and fitted it there
No probs with skipping disc`s over an lumps and bumps, and it`s all tucked away from harm/robbing bastards!
I've got a Sony 10-disc in the back of my Escort RS (old 1.6)
and the suspension/ride on that is MUCH worse than the Supra
(Std. that is !!)
However the Sony changer is their top model and has Electronic
Skip Protection - ie about a 10 second memory.
It has NEVER skipped in the 2 years/12.000 miles it's been in there.
All my 'Essex-Boy' mates say MOST single slots are vulnerable 'cos
the suspension room available is naturally smaller = can't handle the bigger/sharper shocks.

I've had a single DIN radio, then a single DIN CD player, and now a single DIN CD player with an autochanger.......all of the CD players have been superb........Alpine comes highly recommended!
Hi Steve
I sold my much beloved RS to buy the Supra! I have Toyota (jap) Head unit and boot multichanger fitted. Single slot skips all the time......multichanger has never skipped. I thought it may be down to the age of the head unit. Anything I can do about it?
Gordon,
^ I am NOT an expert on Supra ICE (Haven't even GOT my Supra
^ yet - could be tomorrow with any luck ?).
^ But it's definitely a fact that the tiny bit of room available in the head
^ unit is simply not enough to allow a decent 'suspension'.
^ The mp3 players may (all?) have memories which would help no end.
^ but I don't believe the memory works on the CD play ONLY on an
^ mp3-CD .. .. ^ ANYBODY KNOW . . ? ?
I can vouch for this, at least on my Kenwood MP3 player.
When playing MP3 CDs, the track never skips. I think this is because the whole track is downloaded into RAM before playing.
When playing normal CDs, it does very occaisionally skip, but not very much given the hard ride.

Go for Alpine! - I have an Alpine single CD and CD changer in the boot. My driving style is far from tame. I've not had a skip yet!
Mp3's and minidisks are highly unlikely to skip as they have to process the info on the disk or as mentioned earlier, get one with shock protection memory. Sony or Panasonic are best for this.
If your near Maidstone, feel free to pop in and I'll take you for a demo of non skipping CD on bumpy road with Bilstien suspension. :)
JUST FOR INFO' ^ (if anyones interested),
Mine's come with a Double-Din Sony (bit like the ones in the new MR2's and some of the Toyota 4x4's).[only 4x35W NOT brand new!)
I was sceptical about it playing CD's AT ALL once on-the-move,
but, hasn't skipped YET (I've only done~200miles so far but some
CRAP road surfaces round here)
