View Full Version : Pukka Base In The Supra
Hi Guys
I have spent many months designing boxes etc for the supra, I needed to fit to Pro - Plus 12" Subs 800w each. I have seen many supra installs but because of the limited space etc to get quality sound is very difficult and exspensive. I went to my local ICE dealer who wanted to removed the back seat and kit the back out and therefore giving my little boot space back. I liked the idea, but did not like the fact that me leather / plastic seats would go and therefore not being stock. So I have designed a box that suits 6" to 12" subs and fits in the boot (Takes the whole boot up), but if and when required (puncture etc), you pulled the rear seat down, and slide the whold box forward, giving enough room to get to the jack tools and spare. The sound is pretty damn good too.

Hey Martin, I also wanted some serious base in my motor and looked at many different idea`s.In the finish i had decided on a single 12" Macdaddy 1000w competition sub and a new amp to suit - unfortunately the day i made my mind up was a sunday and the ICE place was closed,so i patiently waited for the following day and had decided to finish a little earlier to go and make my purchase. That same day a meeting was called at lunch and we were all made redundant!!!!!DOH!!!!!
I still crave monster base but somehow can`t warrant spending over £600 on such a luxury at the mo!
Be interested in seeing/hearing your install at the next meet maybe.

Andy, I've got an account with Mac. Let me know if/when you want one and I'll see what price I can get it for.
Sure you don't want 2.... 4 maybe?

Thanks Matt - but i think one will sufficiently drop low enough and move enough air given the cabin space in a supe!!
Just as soon as the funds allow i will by back on my mission for serious sounds!

I am itching to get started on a sub enclosure now and would be interested if anybody has any good idea`s.
P.s. i want a serious system,and people with idea`s of less than 10"s need not reply! thanks!!
The guy thats buying my car, Barry, is in to bass so Im sure he will be interested in adding to this thread. A picture of his current install in his biscuit tin...

Is that a renault 5???
yep, good old Ren5 turbo biscuit tin.
Ooo, I'm all embarased now!
I'm planning on full multi-media for the Supra, for the nipper of course. :)
Will probably go the PS2 route with a couple of screens.
Who needs a boot anyway?!
No one who chooses to drive a Supra!

Come on then,Bazza!
Share them idea`s!!!!!:cheesy:
( has your nipper got legs?? cause my supra as no room for kids with legs!!)
Well, I remember seeing Justin's little'un in a child seat in the back of his supra a while ago. Luckily my other half is only 4'11" so the passenger seat can go right forward. Plus my daughter is just about to have her 2nd birthday, and she's quite small herself.
I never give out my secrets until the install is finished..... Mainly because I make it all up as I go along.!!! :)
Anyhow, I haven't even measured up what space is available yet so I'm not sure what's going in there yet, I have a couple of idea's I'm playing with but nothing definate.
The pic's above of my GTTurbo's boot was the third install I built, I wasn't happy with the first two and they both only housed one 12" RF Sub.
......watch this space.....
:)
so, he's turning one of the lightest Supras around in to a lardy multimedia entertainment emporium....
Cant wait to see how it works out. I know Craig over on the Big List had TVs and stuff put in his but I have yet to see the install up close.

Wots all this nonsense with big speakers man ?
You guys been reading 2much MaxPower or wot ?
Respect......not ;-)
For some daft reason I have decided to weigh my evo down with
some sounds too. Focal front and rear speakers....sound AWESOME....
two Alpine V12's in da boot....two JL Audio 10's.......and
if Matt will fit today (ROFL) possibly an Alpine TV and PS2....
Check da bass at the next meet <Box Hill, Sunday 7th April>
Only one place to buy your ICE from guys....Matt Harwood !!!!
Does this mean the end of the mobile shop?
Or is it all just a cunning ploy so you can't hear your passengers screaming . . .

Are you still looking after it? - You're not killing those speakers yet are you?

Yes, still "running in" the subs ;-)
Sound is simply incredible for the money, the Focal's
especially getting the big thumbs up !
Now with new sounds and tinted windows, I just need to find the number plate "DRU9S" , buy a phat gold chain and pit-bull terrier
and I could pass as a dealer/pimp ....ROFL

Oh year, it does mean the end of the "mobile shop" 8-(
Thats is, until my Audi RS4 arrives......
RS4!? Gulp! Twin turbo porker engine :)
If anyone saw the feature channel 4's 'Driven' done a while back, that was my Ren 5 turbo they used.! Had to stand and watch Plato thrash the nackers off it and keep stuffing up his lines! 'plonker!'
What happened to the M3 idea?
pictures of the install are in my gallery now.
