Hey guys

A few weeks back I mensioned that I was getting a leak and that my turbos were not holding any pressure (it all dumped as soon as I hit a constant speed). I have fitted a new BOV and hose yet sometimes the boost seems to hold. For example was pottering along at 40 in 4th and the boost was at a nice constant pressure but as soon as I accelerated slowly it would hit around 0.1 bar and sit there even tho my revs were slowly increasing, at this point I was getting a Pssshhhh noise like a long bov sound. The thing that gets me is that the boost hits 1 bar fine when driven hard.

While I am at it someone pointed out that I have the stock bov still in place could this be the problem? Running a aftermarket bov and stock?

Also what sort of damage would a slight leak do to the turbos?

Things seemed so much more straight forward with the SZ lol

What BOV did you get?

Got a Blitz Super Sound as it used the same flange as my old blitz one. Plus it sounds good

Its just mines a ssqv and the original has been removed.
maybe if you put some pics up someone maybe able to tell you if you can do the same?

Ok heres some pics of the engine bay

There is a slight gap in between the gasket and BOV is this normal or shall I remove the metal gasket and just use the card type one??

This is where the BOV is plumed into

and this is where the boost gauge is plumed into

does this look all ok?

Also silly question does boost increase in pressure from the engine speed or throtal opening? IE if I were to drive at 3000rpm with my foot just resting on the throtal should the boost be very slight or would it be the same as say 3000rpm but with my foot to the floor???

No boost should equate on how hard your accelerating. As your using more fuel and creating more exhaust giving more boost etc.
Never seen a bov on that side before. Mines in place of the stock one.

ah I see so if I am poodling along there shouldnt be any boost at all (or very very little)

can some one confirm this for me? Say I am driving hard at 1 bar of boost I slow down due to traffic and sit at 4k (in preperation for overtaking) my bov normaly goes phhhhhhhhh and boost drops to nearly nill. Now am I right in thinking that his is because the throttal is at a constant opening and not much exhaust gas is going through? (as you pointed out edge). If that is the case I dont seem to have a boost leak as that is what it is doing.
