Jesus, that's a lot of BHP capability!

Video clip is a little boring and doesn't really show the box being put through its paces though, surely he only engages 1st through to about 3rd at a max of 70-80mph?

Nice for the keen dragsters out there though!

So what's a TH400 then?

A fairly cheap, readily available, clunky gearbox from the olden days that's as strong as an ox and great for drag racing.

It's been adopted by the Supra community and modified to become a bolt on kit with a hefty premium.

Various versions are available but compare these offerings:

So I am right thinking that this box is a three speed with O/D?

Yes, but the main point is - its running off an AEM ECU, as in its shiftpoints as determined by a ECU thats not standard :)

And it'll behave like a standard box. But on the drag strip it'll shift instantly and hold massive amounts of power - its the best of both worlds.

With a 6 speed diff it would do 250+ on 30" tall tyres (mentioned in the thread...)

Gaz.

Sorry, Im obviously feeling very humourous (sp) and no one else was around to cop it ;)
