View Full Version : Traveling to Cologne from the states with time to burn. Ideas?
I'm traveling to Cologne, Germany on business in May and will be staying a few extra days to check out what I can of Europe. Ive been to Sweden a few times and the rail system works great there, so I assume its that easy in the rest of Europe? I was thinking of hitting maybe Paris, London, and Dublin for a day each. Is there time for this or is that pushing it? Any suggestions on what and where to do? Maybe these arnt even cities to stop in? I like the idea of London, because I speak the language :d , but that was never a problem in Sweden. What about France and Germany?
Thanks all!
Go to prague, you will love it, go back to Germany for Oktoberfest

Its probably a bit much to do a city each day. It'd be worth travelling to Paris and London - very easy to get between the 2 as well.
Gaz.
Depends what you're into. Beer women & clubs, or museums art & poetry readings?
Ill have a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to burn. Beer, women, and clubs are good.
Whats goin in Prague?
Definatelly go to Prague then... Nice clubs, better beer, finest women :) You would maybe like to visit Cracow (Poland) too as it is kinda close - beautifull city, hot girls included, 60 miles to ski resort in Zakopane :p All costs peanuts :)
There's always Amsterdam too. Not too far from Cologne and deffo worth going if you've never been before. You won't believe your eyes when you wander round the RLD;)
If you are already in cologne I would go to amsterdam. It is pretty near and all. I dont think you want to spend your most time on a train so I would stay near.
Amsterdam may be a little more trouble than I care to get into. :)
Plus, I have been doing some reading on that and the RLD there doesnt sound like a place one wants to travel alone.
Then go to Prague you can have plenty of fun there with some of the best clubs of the world.
