Havard Posted April 2, 2007 Share Posted April 2, 2007 Whilst removing my wiper arms yesterday, I found a crack in my windscreen that was probably there when I bought the car tbh. It is right at the top of the screen behind the passenger visor, it can't be seen from certain angles but it is about 4" long. I am now worried that this could get bigger and break the screen completely. Having looked at my glass cover on my insurance, it says I have a £40 excess and that a claim will not affect my NCB. Excuse my scepticism but where is the catch here?? Also, how much is a replacement windscreen these days? and are there any pitfalls etc? Thanks H. Graham S Posted April 2, 2007 Share Posted April 2, 2007 Its ok dude, there isn't a catch about affecting no claims, you just pay the excess, but the bloke that does windscreens in our place says they are a bitch to replace as getting the rubbers in right is a bitch.. Wneh I saw the crack I thought it would cost hundreds to fix. £40 excess and the insurance company pays the rest seems extremely generous in this day and age!! I'll give them a ring today! Thanks H.
