Fitting Brake Pads didn't go to plan

First set of pads on the nearside rear went in with no probs. As for the rest I couldn't get the pins out to release the caliper. I used as much force as I dare without wanting to shear the heads off.

Any suggestions as to how to loosen the pins? Or should I give up now and let a garage deal with it??

Hit them from the back side of the caliper with a hammer and small drift while twisting them slightly from the side with a pair of mole grips. If that fails you will have to cut the pins by the pads and get them out with an air hammer. New pins are not that expensive from Toyota and it may be worth investing in a new set and a big tub of copper grease.

The one that I did manage to do had 2 threaded bolts holding everything in place??

Bolts are undone anti-clockwise. Pins (which you asked about) aren't threaded so they turn either direction if they are loose.
