I can't help but notice you could probably shave a few minutes off that journey if you just head north up the A6 from the starting point. ;)
Any idea when you're planning this Arron? It looked like fun last year. I may book a B&B and join you this time.

Excellent work Nick.
A few Ferraris would be very welcome... especially your boss's F40 !
Just a note to forum members.... the list in this thread is purely for MKivSupra.net members in their Supras. Other cars will be invited along to 'spice' things up and to have a healthy mix of different machinery.

The event is nearly full in terms of car numbers.
Just got to hope for some good weather to bring out the supercars that have put their names down. :)

Sorry if I have wasted your time AJI.....:(
H.
Thats ok Havard - the entry list is quite long as it is, I may have allowed too many cars already. ;)

Just a flavour of what to expect if the weather is nice:
Ferraris
Porsches
A Lambo (or two)
A Mosler !
Supras
GTOs
Skylines
EVOs
TVR
Maybe an Aston and a Noble
GT4
etc.
As with all these type of events it is all weather pending. So if its nice bring your cameras !! :)

I didn't realise you were limiting numbers or i would have said before :banghead:
I'd like to join you guys for this if there are any spaces left?
I'm afraid i'm going to have to drop out of this one. The Supra will be away getting repaired. Sorry.

Still looking like a decent turn out? :)
Gaz - yeah, if the weather is nice then you should all be in for a treat as there will be numerous Ferraris, Porsches, NSXs etc. aswell as a MOSLER !
Not to mention the Supras, GTOs etc.
On the list there are about 40 cars ! Some have dropped out but others have 'signed up'.
Just hoping for sunny weather in order to make a great event.
Are you Envy guys bringing the 350Z ??
You're gutted because you're away on holiday?
You must be devastated mate lol
i am mate lol i bloody missed last years as well:(
lol, as much fun as the lakes run is going to be, I'm sure I'd rather be off on hols abroad somewhere, I've just been back from tenerife two weeks and already I'm pining to go away again.
There'll be plenty of pics for you to look at when you return no doubt.
i'm out sorry chaps - i don't really fancy bringing it with a ding'd bumper & it is due a service too before i start thrashing it around for the day :)

Sounds good Aron.
Yeah bringing the Zed, stretch its legs a bit :D
Gaz.
Gaz, Suprafly and any other north easterners - Is anyone meeting up first for a convoy over or just meeting there?
We could meet up at the washington services and convoy over, if anyones interested in that, then I'll be setting off from washington services on the A1 (southbound)at 9:00am, heading to scotch corner then on to Penrith via the A66.
see you all there, or if not then at the Golf club, whichever.
Washington southbound meet:
1. Suprafly
2.
Washington southbound meet:
1. Suprafly
2. James C
3. Envy
4. Tom S
The weather is now looking a bit wet for Sunday but it shows that it should be clearing up as the day goes on.
Its typical really as today (saturday) is nice and sunny and warn, Monday is forecast as nice and sunny and warm....yet Sunday is just ...well, I'm not happy.
It should still make for a nice drive out all the same. Hope to see you all there.
Just looking at the forecast and there is a rain belt passing over Penirth at the time of the meet up. But if by popular demand we; can have the option of delaying the drive route start by an hour to allow the roads to dry up ??
Please come and see me on the day if you wish this to be the case.
Cheers.
Aron,
what time at Hayden Bridge? we might meet you there and join up
Or you coud just look at the BBC weather forcast (http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=2779) and pretend that everything is going to be fine. Ahh, ignorance is bliss.
Is anything happening at the golf club or is that just the meeting place as we might meet you at Hayon Bridge.
If you meet at Haydon Bridge then you'll miss out on the best part of the drive route.
It may be better to come along the A66 from Scotch Corner and then you won't be repeating or doubling back on any of the route. Just a thought.
Failing that then just go straight along the A69 to Carlisle and down the M6.
But from Penrith to Haydon Bridge is expected to take about 45 mins. Therefore 12:45 ish. assuming we set off at 12 noon from Penrith.
my moblie is 07899 765072 is you want to keep in touch on the day.

Enjoy tomorrow guys, sorry I could not make it.
If its the best bit i'll come over with you guys too. What times the meet then 11 or 12?

We came back over the 69 and got stuck behind the slowest lorry in the world followed by lots of cars. Got passed eventually, when we were nearly home though there was a nice RS4 wanting to have a bit of a play, 112 leptons i belive  I let Suprafly take over from there ;)

It was interesting to see the plume of feathers fly up after each encounter. Never saw any on the road so assuming they hitched a ride in your bumper!
That Volvo driver got a little upset with you overtaking him! Never seen a volvo go so quick and handle so well, he was right on the limit!
And I was intending to take the drive home easy to give the car a rest!:p

Thanks Aron for organizing such a great day out and extending the invitation to GTOUK. The scenic route was most enjoyable in the company of so many fine machines and capable yet sensible drivers. I look forward to better weather next year!

i thought that dodge was fast...now i know why!! lol
great day aron, thoroughly enjoyed myself and the car survived with only fooked brakes, lucky compared to some i think!!!
Yeah great day aaron, superb outing, looking forward to next years run already.
Weather could have been a little better, especially on the run up to the Hartside summit which was a bit treacherous, what with next to zero visability due to driving through a cloud, shame as theres some breathtaking views from there, still the weather retreated by the time we got to Alston and was fine for the rest of the day.
Did anyone else notice the 'welcome' sign at Alston?
It said 'Welcome to Alston'.....'please d i e slowly'
Someone had taken the r and the v out of drive.
