Havard
Whilst I was refitting my lights yeaterday I noticed this connector is not attached to anything and can't actually see anything it should attach to either. It is on the same loom as the headlights but dangles down much further and is secured to the body underneath the air filter box on the drivers side. I have always had a light on the dash to say there is a bulb out, but they are all working fine. Could this have anything to do with it? There is nothing similar on the passenger side of the car either. http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/9507/pict0812ao6.jpg http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/5821/pict0813iv1.jpg Help would be appreciated. DaveK
I was about to go and see if mine is connected - and then remembered my car is in Watford. Doh!
Havard
If the light is fitted you can't see it. It's a big thing to have not connected to something. If I look through the air intake ie where the indicators are you can see it dangling down. I am not overly worried but it is in the direct path of any water that comes through the gap!! H. DaveK
It is quite common to have connectors that are not connected on a loom though. My 964 probably has as many unconnected connectors as it has connected connectors (try saying that drunk!).
Nic
Active front spoiler? Even if your car didn't have an active front spoiler the loom would have a connector for it.

Havard
Thanks for the help guys. I just thought it was a bit weird having it dangling there and taking the full brunt of any water that goes through the gaps in the bumper. To be honest, if I hadn't taken the lights out Iwould never have noticed it! H.
Wazz72
I was about to send a picture in on this as well. After I took abart my car from the front to fit a veilside bumper, I found the same wire hanging down covered with insulating tape. Thanks
Guest deathstring
Havard, if your car is a 93-96 and has the 97-98 tail lights you are going to have the dummy light turned on whenever you turn your lights on. if this is the problem i'm sure the light on the dash is off when all of your lights are off. No mate. The yellow (bulb out) light is on all the time and never goes off. The guy I bought it off reckoned it was something to do with some neons that were fitted in Japan and had been subsequently removed. I'll get it looked at eventually but it's not a big problem, I just put two and two together and 2538 as usual!! H.
