Clutch Cable Noise

My clutch makes an annoying creaking noise when it is depressed. The sound appears to be coming from near the pedal, where the cable meets the hole in the chassis throught to the engine bay.

I have used WD40 to get rid of it and is has done a bit, but I imagine it will come back again.

Anyone have any suggestions in what I should use?...some form of grease maybe?...or even something like this maybe?:

Thanks a lot :D

Mine does the same, and I'm sure it's the pedal - I assume it's the bushings. I've tried the "remove the cover / spray the fork" thing and it made no difference.

It's a bugger to get to aswell, which does not help. My neighbour walked passed a pissed himself cuz I was stuck in the footwell at one stage :)

I know. I've tried spray grease etc. but it doesn't really work for very long and it looks almost impossible to actually remove the pedals and grease the bushes.

If it helps - eventually, you get used to it and hardly notice it. And you can always turn the stereo up.

My service is next week - I might ask Mark at Phoenix to sort it. The bill is going to be big enough as it is - and I've spent waaaay too much money this month (and will for the next couple of months) so what difference will a few quid more make.... :(
