rush
Just wondering which of these two exhausts would be best suited for a Single set up, looking for a quieter system but cant make my mind up which of these to go for, any suggestions. Inferno
I can't speak for the HKS, but the Tanabe is damn quiet compared to the cannon mufflers out there... perhaps try the newer Tanabe Medallion Touring.
Sheefa
See post regarding the HKS matey: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=95453&highlight=Tanabe HKS seems to be the way forward.
SupraAyf
I have an HKS exhaust on mine and it sounds great; very quiet but very deadly if you know what I mean!!
Lucifer
Neither, both budget. Go for a Greddy Ti or and HKS Ti.
Gaz Walker
Neither, both budget. Go for a Greddy Ti or and HKS Ti. He said "quieter" not wake the dead loud Gaz.
Chris Wilson
What's the QUIETIST performance system for the MKIV at the moment, something less restrictive than stock, but pretty much as quiet as stock?
Gaz Walker
The HKS Silent Hi-Power is 11db over stock - 98db its quoted as. Thats the quietest AFAIK because the Jasma legal standard is a max of 11db over stock. Gaz.
D3xt3r
The Tanabe is rated 93dB.
Chris Wilson
I would personally consider the HKS Silent Hi Power quite noisy, am looking for an exhaust that would most definitely pass track day noise tests behind a big single. In the Skyline world only ones that truly work are 4 box, split into a "Y" systems, as far as I can ascertain. Thanks, any other suggestions? matt k
What's the QUIETIST performance system for the MKIV at the moment, something less restrictive than stock, but pretty much as quiet as stock? My mate has an Apexi N1 Evo on his GT35R Single Supra and it is really quiet......Too quiet for him!
Gaz Walker
The Tanabe is rated 93dB. Didn't know that, thought it was 98dB too. Looks more restrictive than the HKS though. http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhausts/files/31_img1.jpg
D3xt3r
That is the old version I think. This is the new one: It is 3" complete and even without cats on a single pretty silent.
Wez
The Blitz Nur Spec RX. I have one on order at the moment http://www.blitz-uk.co.uk/ProductItem-2116.aspx
Gaz Walker
Its going down all the time! The RX looks the business, even less restrictive than the HKS. Gaz.
