ellis
I want to get rid of the aerial on the rear wing and get a neater bee sting / roof mounted aerial for the Supe. Anybody got any suggestions at all? Anybody done this change? Cheers.
Ian W
i think a roof mounted aerial would be less neat to be honest. i'd get rid all together and try and get an effective internal aerial.
ellis
OK - sounds better! Anyone with technical knowledge know what the best way to do this would be?
Ian W
OK - sounds better! Anyone with technical knowledge know what the best way to do this would be? bizarrely, my Audi 80 has no external aerial and yet seems to get a decent reception via the radio. no idea where the aerial is or what it looks like mind you. Sheefa
I have the SatNav aerial installed under the grill at the front by the bonnet by the washer arms and reception is great. Check out the stubby aerial group buy for an alternative mate.
Dragonball
The rear window internal aerial may be enough for your needs? If not then I imagine it will mean running it from the rear up through the rear quarters and drilling into the roof... What about a BMW style one? AndrewOW
Check these threads out and put your name down! http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=98125 http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=104211 They're both to do with the same thing, but running separately, just to confuse everyone! Different suppliers for the aerial and bracket.
Gadget
What about a BMW style one? Sorry to hijack. You do mean the shark fin one Paul. I had the idea of a BMW one but was'nt sure how much they cost, or how they would look. Has it ever been done or anyone ever photoshopped one?? 2JG
Mine came with a roof mounted aerial and the standard aerial. I have know idea why it's there as the radio works off the standard aerial. I can't wait till I have enough cash to get rid of it, plug the whole and respray the roof!
AlanM
Early Ford Sierras had a good one in the boot, excellent reception
