Supra-jdm
had my supra n/a auto for about 2 weeks now, looking into some basic power mod's before i put a nitrous kit on it its completly standard engine wise. heard that removing the cats and a cat back exhaust filter and plugs will bump it up a bit any other recomendations? and power gains from the mods i've listed? JustGav
Removing the cats will certainly make it breath easier, but don't go silly a put a HUGE exhaust on it, as the NA engines do require some level of back pressure.
Supra-jdm
what sort of gains would i expect from removing cats, exhaust and filter and plugs any idea?
JustGav
Don't change the airfilter, keep the stock one (This subject has been covered a few times before).. It is hard to put an exact figure on the power increase (10bhp+ guess)... The NA is different beast to tune up. One of the big changes is the tubular exhaust manifold, however make sure you get one that fits a RHD car.
Lebsteif
Get a turbo kit http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=101849
Supra-jdm
had a look at turbo kits but got to keep the car kind of pratical for driving to work thats why im going to get a nitrous kit with a controller. looking for about 250bhp without nitrous

I'll agree with that, I've got HKS Hiper, full de-cat and HKS filter, and it's about stock BHP, 220, given that it's 200K kms old now. If you're looking for 250, you'll be needing a port & polish, plus the improved exhaust manifold, and possibly investing in some new even higher cams. That's big money and time for an unguaranteed +30BHP.
Supra-jdm
right turbo it is then.

Supra-jdm
bit a difference between auto and manual then probably get under 7 with the manu and o/d on changing gear manually what you think? just curoius cause my last car was a eg civic vti and i did a recorded 7.22 in that supra obivouly quicker after about 25-30mph

dr_blackman
Why on the subject with nitrous, can you use this and still have your cats in place? I've always wondered this! lol. Will it cause damage or not!
Nic
If there are enough people wanting one (need minimum of 3 orders). I'll do another production run of the NA exhaust manifold. These are full stainless steel and should give a power increase of around 8-12hp. The manifold replaces the stock cast manifold and first cat. It makes the exhaust note sound a lot 'racier' http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8473/p1030161sa4.jpg http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/1831/p1030162uk1.jpg http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/7632/dsc00305dl3.jpg http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/1738/dsc00307xs0.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/3957/dsc00312gm4.jpg http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/1491/dsc00313hh4.jpg

Nic
From the looks of it, that encompasses the first cat, and therefore the 2nd cat pipe joins staight onto it. Correct it replaces the stock cast manifold parts AND the first cat. Tell me how much, I have shiny pipe wood. £305 delivered. It is also specifically designed to fit a RHD Supra and includes bosses to fit the stock OEM oxygen sensors.
