Ryan.G
Anybody tried one of these or is the good old det cans the best for listening to knock on a supra Had good results on a mr2 with det cans but not sure if the 2jzgte engines are noisey at high rpm to hear det. Is there much ghost knock on a supra too with the noisey getrag gearbox Thanks Ryan
Wez
The gearbox does make alot of noise, well the whole tranmission does but with cans you can still hear det cleanly. Knocklink are supposed to be pretty good.
Ryan.G
Thanks wez Were have you found the best place to attach the det cans too in the engine bay
Alex
The engine hooks are as good a place as any.
Wez
I use a bolt hole on the head on the inlet side, really depends on the cans and what mic they come with.
Ryan.G
What kit do you use Wez and alex The experience i had with 3sgte was using set of big ear defender with rubber hosing to bit of copper pipe which was flattened and drill to bolt to block. Its always better to put the mic on the intake side for sure

The best by far is the amplified setup, everything is louder and clearer which is needed on a single motor, you can also use big cupped headphones to help reduce outside noise. I use the engine hook bolt hole on the hot side (less injector interference)
