Well after reading a few threads about the lexus is300 union bolt mod for oil pressure guages I decided to get one...

£23 for a sodding bolt!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it!

and £1.06 for the gasket. These were from Pentagon Toyota in Barnsley and won't be in until 27th March. So anyway I paid it after laughing for a while at the parts man... 23 bloody quid.. :(

not much use im sure but i got the whole lot and never used it, so if you wana cancel your order i can do it for £15 quid and £2 for postage

Arrrghghhhhghghhh! Thats bloody typical!! lol This is not my day

:(

I paid for it by card so would probably be a lot of hassle to go down there and have them stick it back on my card etc. Thanks for the offer though. There may be someone else wanting one? You should post it in the for sale things and tell them its £23 + VAt if they buy from Toyota!

Not that I want to make you r day worse but it was I who was bidding against you in eBay for that cam covers - I did stop when I realised it was you though :innocent:

LOL, just checked it now... bid what you like matey, if I win them then thats good, if not I'll look for some others :) Not desperate for them, was going to polish them and sell my stock ones.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just been to toyota and picked up my union bolt and gasket

I've brought it home and tried to screw the pressure sender for my autometer guage into it and it seems it would only screw in one thread and then got really tight. Is this normal or is it a different thread? I first thought it might be a tapered thread? They look the same, but just didn't feel right so I didn't want to force it.

Any ideas/help/comments appriciated

i think its tapered, as i recall i had the same thing happen to mine when i bought one.. should screw down about 15-20mm though

My pressure sender screws in about 1mm so I'm guessing they are different threads :(

RobSheffield took a look at it too and came to the same conclusion. I'm going to see if an engineering place/shop will tap and die it for me tomorrow :)
