Dust Caps - Am I Being Dumb?!

CanCant get these buggers off the supe! :search: Have tried before and given up. Used bare hands \ mole grips \ plyers etc with no joy. Don't think they are 'locking' ones, if they are they're dam good!

 

Maybe they are just bound onto the value? Any ideas? :blink:

Have you tried unscrewing them?? :p kidding. I had some locking ones with tiny grub screws - 3 got knicked and I pulled the other off with no probs :rolleyes:

 

Sorry to be useless and inane but I sympathise and hope you get it sorted ;) lol

They are sodded l'll tell you now .

 

The aluminium cap in the salt/weather oxidizes virtualy welding it to the brass/brass plated valve.

 

best think to do is get new valves and if you must have the on apply some "Alu-slip" or copper grease to the thread before putting on new ones.

 

And keep turning them now and again.

 

Plastic works fine.
