I have just read another thread about a newbie/user getting the wrong end of a bad deal, and then having to wait for ages to get a refund.

Maybe as a suggestion, for the future, we should stop the selling of items for "a friend"/"someone that is not a member"... Seen this on other forums.

If they cant spend £10 to become a member to sell the items themselves... then why should they be able to sell on this forum, they are not members/hobbiests/traders, etc.

I agree on the selling on behalf of a friend should not be allowed, although I think that posting an item for sale on behalf of a friend is ok only if you divert all contact about the sale to the friend you are doing the post for.

I find it very annoying to ask someone a question about something they have advertised only to be told "I don't know, phone xxxxx and speak to yyyy as it is their item. I don't know anything more about it."

If I had wanted all the unknowns I would have just bought it off ebay. :)

Poll added.

As is - but only because there may be danger of a potential 'nanny state' mentality developing - legislating for every eventuality and potential problem... (?)

How the government must feel eh?...

Hmmmm, tough one really...

If you block all non-related sales, then people suddenly loose exposure to outside things which could interest them. Now admittedly this is full of holes as well as has been seen in the past...

As with everything in life, it is a choice... Do you stop them and then loose possible items that MAY have interested a member or do you allow them and then get stuck with the 'Well, it is a mates and I don't know anything about it'..

How about a half way point, even if you sell on behalf of a mate, it is your iTrader that gets impacted... That should cause people to be more careful.

One example was a friend of mine needed some gear linkage cables for his MR2, and a kind member on here had a set, and sent them out straight away and even included a guide. It was absolutely spot on, and I left iTrader feedback and I accepted the feedback as well (In this case it was positive)...

Just another random 2c worth of drivel.

I dont have an issue with people posting up a link (eg. eBay) saying look at this, but posting items for sale with it not being your item, I have an issue with.

Opps!! On reading that again, I actually voted for "Block selling on behalf of a friend". Sorry!
