Baffelled by the baffle

The new RSR is fully stainless :) And I'm sick to death of quiet! :D

Hmm. I'm sure my RS*R was the 'new' one (about a year ago), and although the backbox was stainless, the midpipe was mild steel.

Out of interest what would you recomend instead Carl0s?

Anything that doesn't turn journeys into a tiresome "LOOK AT ME!" episode.

Sitting at traffic lights with the air-con on, with an RS*R is just embarassing. It goes. "bu-bu-bu-bu-bu, BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, bu-bu-bu-bu-bu ... [repeat indefinately until the lights turn green and you can move away]"

I still haven't taken the baffle out!

Was going to have a go with a crowbar, insert into exhaust and hook it round the back of the baffle and yank out.

They should make a tool for the job. Something which opens out like an umbrella once slotted inside.

I suspect a crowbar won't work. It'll try to pull it to one side.

What if I yank it really hard and swear a lot?

Good luck!

You could do what I did, and just drive around without the nut in place.

If you're lucky one day it'll get spat out of the exhaust when you're least expecting it :D

(although I must admit to having not pushed it in *all* the way)

That must have still been an old RS*R as the new one (RS*R ExMag GTII) has a polished 304 stainless steel canister and then ceramic coated 409 stainless steel piping. I've also had it confirmed by Envy that the new ones they sell are the fully stainless ones :)

Now that's not the sort of annoyance I was after :(

Think I might take a trip over to Pete and ask him nicely if he'll be kind enough to take me out for short everyday drive to see if it is going to be that bad for my daily driver.
