Guest boostcontrol
I had a similar problem(?) on my last car (S14a), thet was a bailey BOV. Never suffered any long term effects of any kind, but nobody i spoke to had any clue what it was. Sorry.. not a very helpful post this. uk-rich
are those blitz ones prone to leaks ?
Guest mk47
Not too sure on the blitz one, but recently I had someone having the same problem.. turned out the bov required a new spring (around a tenner) and that solved it.

Homer
The old style Blitz ones were prone to sticking, they can be easily dismantled and oiled up a bit. That worked on an old one of mine and is still working to this day on another members car.
wez_p
unless it's just enough of a leak for you to able to hear but not enough to stop boost increasing, is it possible it's just the sound of the induction/turbos? my Apexi induction makes quite a bit of noise when you give it some
Daston
yeah it goes from a whining noise to a whooooosh when boost goes over 0 bar.
robwilliamst3
Yes the blitz DV's sometimes gets bunged up and causes this. Also Blitz recommend a replacement "harder" spring for anything over 1.2 bars. The blitz part number is 70997A
Daston
how hard is it to take apart to unbung and is a good old squert of WD40 enough?

(a little later) Sorry can’t find it! But I remember it was just a simple case of removing the 4 top bolts, then Removing the spring and plunger and using some wet and dry and wd40 to clean the bore.
