Good adhesive for fixing sideskirts

The fit of my sideskirts is actually OK, but the joing to the door, is actually coming away on both sides. It's like the popper has come away from the metal car frame - that's what UKRich mentioned when he saw them at Donington.

Can anyone recommend a super strong adhesive that will keep these attached?

I tried superglue as a suggestion, only on the inside of course to no avail! :innocent: I will be getting these sorted by a bodyshop anyway 9need slight repair) in July, but for now, would like them to look flush! :D

Cheers.

Tiger seal is good mate it wont come off again! can get it from any paint surplies

Never heard of it, but I'll certainly give it a look. As long as I don't fuck up and spill it all over my joggers and attach myself to the car, all should be OK. :)

You can purchase panel sealer from good paints suppliers, or as mentioned, Tiger Seal, but must allow some time to set.

Thanks Albert/Joe.

Trouble is, how am I going to let this set, does it stick straight away or will I have to hold it in place? It needs something with a fairly substantial amount of grunt to hold as this skirt is not keen on staying in position! :(

Yes, it will require holding in place while the bonding agent sets. If you are doing it yourself, then you will need a lot of masking tape, and maybe wedge a softback magazine inbetween the door and skirts. ;)

We normally rivet the skirts on, fill and smooth before preparation for painting.

Rich,

That would be very much appreciated mate. Not sure when I'm going to get a good free day to do these yet, but I'll give you a shout if that's OK.

Thank you pal. ;)
