Can anyone recommend a good place to get the wire/bracket/harness to connect my 3rd Gen iPod to my Kenwood headunit... I'm not interested in the iTrip, I've already got one and don't really like it... I want to be able to run a wire into the center box so I can just plug it in...

Does anyone else have one, and how much did you pay? AFAIK they're around £60, so I'm hoping on getting the cheapest as possible seeing as it's basically a bit of wire...

Well I have a Kenwood headunit, KDC-W4534, and I got the KCA-iP500 unit to connect an iPod (which I dont have yet). More than just a bit a of wire, comes with a little box and 2 wires. :p The whole setup cost me £130

i've got the KCA-iP500, got it from ebay for about £35 delivered IIRC

it charges the iPod as well as giving full control of the iPod from the headunit (i think the functionality depends on the headunit)

i have to say that the interface on the head unit, even on my double din touch screen, is pretty basic, but the sound quality is spot on & you have access to everything

i presume you're meaning the arm rest compartment when you refer to the centre box? that's where i'm planning on routing mine to but at the mo it's just hangin on the passenger seat

just ensure that your headunit is compatible as my last one wasn't :)

I have one of these KCA-iP500 knocking around somewhere, its only as good as the head unit its pluged into  if you go to Kenwoods web site it has a chart showing you which functions work with which head unit .
