Wheels: what is too heavy?

What is too heavy for a set of wheels, i'm thinking about 19's but want to make sure they are light enough to not affect the suspension too much.

Does anyone know what weight i shouldn't go over.

Also should i get the alignment done before or after changing the wheels?

just keep the weight to a minimum (not such as issue with 19s as size will be a factor too) and get the geo done afterwards and not before.

I think the cars are dreadful on 19 inch rims and they ruin the handling. 16 or 17 are best, the correct offset 18 inch aren't too bad, 19 inch are dire. Lots of people disagree, lots agree. If you appreciate good handling, response and dynamics, you won't like them, IMO.

you can fit 18" wheels, and with the profile of tyre, get very close to the standard 17 size

as Chris says Sandy, some people think they are fine.

personally i wouldn't go any larger than 18s in as close an offset to the original as possible.

if i were going to buy some new rims for my own i'd actually got for the best set of 17s i could afford.

to answer your questions, 19s will fit fine but to get a very good quality set it's gonna be big money not to mention the cost of rubber on them.

I've investigated the cost of rubber and not to fussed about that, just want to make sure i get a nice looking wheel that fills the arches.

What doesn't help is cant find the wheel i want in an 18, that would probably solve my issue, lol

I am very biased, the wheels appearance, size and how it fills the arches mean absolutely zero to me, I just weigh them, check the material spec, the spigot hole diameter and the offset. If they look ludicrous, to me it's an insignificant fact

I really like the advan siena, and the trafficstar stm but they are a bit pricey for me. or do i just wait a few months and spend the extra £££

Also the Mania Vortex r's look like a cheeper alternative but not sure about the build and they are 19's only

Lots if top supras in the states run 19", but then again when did Americans ever corner fast?

trying to find out the weight of the vortex's, does anyone know?
