I'm just wondering if these steam wallpaper stripper's are any good.

If they are , do you have to get a good one for say £150 or the cheaper ones good too.

I've been looking at the Earlex ones , you can buy them for home use and for the professional decorator.

Thanks

I got a new one form Argos for £20! Shit hot. Don't spend any more as they are all the same IMO. The one on mine could do with a slightly large water tank but when it gets low, it is an ideal time to stop for a brew!:p

Yeah we got one and it was ace. Can't remember the brand, it might have been earlex, but it only cost about £40 from Homebase. Make sure you get one with a separate pan on a hose, rather than the all-in-one thing, because you'll be lifting loads of water around - that's hard work.

Don't get a dear one mate. Any cheap one will do. After all you'll only get to use it once and then it will be packed away for a couple of years.

When I started decorating my house I did the first half of the lounge without one and it was a nightmare. Much much easier with a cheap one from Argos / Homebase etc.

Thanks everyone, nice to hear that the cheap ones work. :)

I thought you might say they're rubbish. :d

There's one at Argos reduced from £33 to £25 .

Suggestion: keep a window in the room slightly open or you will disappear in a cloud of steam... ;) lol

the only benefit with the bigger ones.. is a bigger footplate (?) so it covers more wall so it's quicker (well in theroy)

Watch out with the larger professional use ones, as my boss took half of his plaster off the wall as he wasn't used to using one.

For a moment then I thought you were on about a raunchy desktop feature...
