View Full Version : Rear Speakers
Hi all,
Before I go mad inside my car with a screwdriver, due to the fact that I have the mechanical know-how of a monkey Can anybody tell me how difficult it is to get to the rear speakers?
Thanks,
Chris.

not too hard really... I presume you need to get to more than you can see by pulling the speaker cover off? if so you just need to remove the side panels...
Lots of screws and push clips but nothing complicated... :)
Getting to them is easy. They are covered by a speaker cover which you can gently prise off with a flat screwdriver. The cover is held in place with metal clips, so no screws etc need to be undone.
HOWEVER, the speakers themselves are a bit more tricky. Toyota thought it was a good idea to glue the rear speakers into their mounts, so if you want to take the speakers out, then you need to prise the speakers out a bit at a time. Not too hard, but it'll take more than a few minutes!
Thanks for the help guys - at the moment just seeing the speakers will be enough as my car has Alpine front speakers and I just wanted to see if the backs had been upgraded too. :d

i had a funny surpirise with mine the covers look like the ones in my hyundai was expectin to find 6"by 9"s undre there was hugley disapointed.
got all me bits and peices together to go out and change speakers over and they dont fit:O
they weren't original speakers but must not be wired up right as they sound AWFUL
I took mine off this sat, the green covers just pull out with a screw driver, then you can unscrew them and reach all the wires behind.:)
Both were blown up and falling apart!!
Very easy to do
