Alloy Wheels

I tried to get rid of the winter from my alloys today using a halfords alloy wheel cleaner.

They've got the usual build up of brake dust, salt and some slight pitting with early signs of rust.

The wheel cleaner was fookin rubbish.

Is there any other stuff i can use to sort them out other than going down the refurb route.

On that subject how much does refurb cost?

Which stuff did u use?

I've used some Extreme alloy wheel cleaner (in a bright green bottle) from there before and thats usually really broken up any brake dust etc.

If mine weren't a bit scuffed I'd sort them myself. There is a guy coming to my house on Friday. He does them in the back of his van for £35 a wheel. I had an offer of £25-30 a wheel from a guy in Burnley but he let me down. I reckon the 35 is a good deal considering he will come to me.

They will need refurbing eventually, they've only been on the car a year, about a month later i kerbed both nearside trying to find an illegal parking space prior to watching the toon getting stuffed. Not a good day!
