im fitting a Autometer tacho to the race car, i have the tacho adapter, but i need to find the primary power feed to the coils, before it splits to power each coil.

i dont need the ecu pins as i am not running with the oem ecu, and the HKS FCON v Pro doesnt have a tacho out

any help would be very much appreciated.

to confirm all i need it the power wire for the coil packs before it splits to feed each individual coil pack

the fcon v pro in mine is spliced into the is200 ecu loom

The car is not a Supra

the ecu output is 5v square wave, the aftermarket tachometers need to see 12v

the adaptor senses voltage drop and converts the pulse to a readable signal at the tachometer.

hence why i took the feed from the 12v ign feed to the coils in the end.

Hi Mat,

As far as I could tell the ignition live in the supra is a constant live and the coils are triggered through earth.

Just wondering how you could get a feed for a tacho from a constant live???

Or am I talking through my derrier?

Anyway at least you got it sorted.
