have a look at http://www.mkiv.co.nz/index.htm they have the jap ecu pin diags.

**********note: its not a vvti diag tho****************
********so it may not be the same as yrs.*************

the actual sensor is very close to the steering col in the engine bay. it may b easier to get it there.

I wired mine straight in at the engine bay, its a lot easier.

where MOS? Im a little confused..

There are 4 whires.

One white,, goes to the dash lights.. thats fine..

Red,, +12v.. ok...

Black,, Negative ... thats fine

The O2 wire violet??? apparently goes to the first sensor on the top CAT?? but which wire ? or Is this even correct?

Stock Sensors are about £90 IIRC.

You are right the violet wire goes to the o2 signal but is simply joined into the wire by either splicing or scotch lock, if you have only one wire (coming from your sensor) then its that wire but if you have more (heated sensor) let me know and ill tell you the correct colour

You can also get universal sensors for about 30

This is what the o2 sensors look like, mine are a 1 wire and a widebans sensor but yours will look roughly the same, i need to get my wiring diagrams out later to post which wire you need to tap into.

I have the colour codes as the white wire is the o2 signal and the rest are heater and earth but my colours come in as
black with red band - heater
black with blue band - heater
brown - earth
white - o2 signal
