twijesiri
Right I have decided I hate these red rims, they’re old and discoloured and not really me. As I cant afford new rims as I have just moved house (way hay). I think I will repaint them a dark grey colour to match my stealth look I am going for. The thing is, I have never attempted this before and wouldn’t mind some pointer; i.e.: what sand paper to use what primer to use and what paint and lacquers to use. So if any one has a few good ideas let me know.
Guest mk47
hi mate i just looked in your garage, that exact same supra you own is the one i was going to buy before my tt! how long you owned it for then? i even put a thread up with pics somewhere a long time ago
twijesiri
thats crazy, coming up to year. The NA was better for me on insurance that the TT. But i hjope to get a UK SPEC TT in a few years. You dont now what rims are on this do you?
Willson
They look a lot like the Sparco Racing wheels my supra had when I bought it. Mine were just silver though. I found this ad on ebay.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/sparco-crimson-racing-alloy-wheels-with-tyres_W0QQitemZ250086588954QQihZ015QQcategoryZ9888QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
colsoop
They look to be anodised to me so if you wanted to remove the red you would have to get an anodising company to remove this should you be going for a polished lip that is. twijesiri
yeah i think they are sparco; will take some pics on the week-end and post them. Is there a particular primer i should use on these alloys, when i repaint them

geoffvalenti
You certainly don't want to use sandpaper on them

Branners
I had exactly the same wheels on my import. I sent them off for a refurb and got them done as gunmetal and they looked okay. they are a nice wheel when painted well. oh,and they are Crimson Racing Sparco Viper, or at least thats what I seemed to find out about them. twijesiri
I getting a mix response on these rims, now I don’t know what to do! I’m in a worse place than when I started. I think Chris you could be right. I am going down to Box hill the weekend after next with Andy (AKA Subculture and his kandy red RX7) so I will sit on the tins of paint I have bought until I come back and see what I think then. Any way big thanks to Branners, Crimson Racing Sparco Viper that puts one question to bed.

terawua
why dont you give these people a call, they seem quite local, http://www.wheelrefurbishing.com/index.htm and they will know what they are doing. If you get it even a little wrong, then you will just end up paying to get it done properly... good luck
